Spencerhill Associates was founded in 2001 by Karen Solem to represent authors of commercial and general-interest fiction. The agency specializes in commercial fiction, romance, and women’s fiction, while also representing middle grade and young adult authors.
Spencerhill works with both established and debut writers, with an emphasis on developing long-term careers and placing authors with editors and publishers best suited to their work. Based in Florida, the agency’s representatives attend publishing conferences throughout the United States and internationally.
The agency also handles subsidiary rights, working with Books Crossing Borders in New York on foreign rights and negotiating film deals for selected clients. Spencerhill emphasizes a personal, hands-on approach and provides guidance throughout the publishing process.
