Alicia Brooks is the founder and President of the Alicia Brooks Literary Agency and brings more than 25 years of publishing experience to literary representation. She began her career at Penguin USA and later held editorial positions at Nan A. Talese/Doubleday and Picador/St. Martin's Press, where she acquired and edited dozens of books. Brooks became a literary agent at the Jean V. Naggar Literary Agency in 2019 before establishing her own agency.
Brooks represents adult fiction and nonfiction as well as young adult fiction and nonfiction. Her interests include literary and book-club fiction, thrillers, historical fiction, horror, memoir, narrative nonfiction from diverse voices, self-help, pop culture, social justice, Jewish-interest projects, and YA. She is particularly interested in distinctive voices, substantial ideas, and books with strong cultural, historical, or social relevance.
