From the Jordan Hill Submission Guidelines:
Jordan Hill represents genre and upmarket fiction for children and adults, often in the SFF and horror spaces. Books on her list frequently ask, through relationships, plot, or conflict: all hope is lost — what now?
She is drawn to stories that grapple with the complexities of family and culture across time, and she is not afraid of dark material. Particular interests include unreliable narrators, female wit and rage, bodies of water as foreboding, and eruptive moments of catharsis. Levity is welcome but not required. She also considers historical fiction or retellings with a fresh approach and compelling perspective.
New Leaf Literary & Media Submission Guidelines

Jordan Hill's Current Wishlist:
She is building around genre and upmarket fiction with a strong SFF and horror center, for both adult and children’s audiences.
She wants stories that sit with lost hope and then push forward — through relationships, plot, or conflict — and that treat family and culture as complicated across generations and time.
She is particularly looking for unreliable narrators, female wit and rage, water imagery that feels foreboding, and moments of eruptive catharsis; levity can help but is not required.
She is open to historical fiction and retellings when the approach feels fresh and the perspective is compelling.
Query and Submission Hints
- Lead with the “all hope is lost — what now?” question when it is the engine of the book; that is the through-line she names for her list.
- Dark material is welcome. Levity helps but is not required.
