About Moe Ferrara

Moe Ferrara is a Senior Literary Agent at Triada US Literary Agency and a Full Member of the American Association of Literary Agents (AALA). Agenting called her in the spring of 2015; after nearly ten years with BookEnds Literary Agency—where she also served as subsidiary rights director—she joined Team Triada as a Senior Literary Agent in 2025. She is primarily interested in children’s literature (picture books, middle grade, and young adult, plus graphic novels in those ages), though the right adult project will catch her attention.

She holds dual degrees in violin performance and music history/literature from Baldwin-Wallace University and a J.D. from Pace Law School. A Pennsylvania native, she still plays violin in pit orchestras for musicals when not reading.

Her clients and projects include Robbie Couch (Bloom; Just the Good Parts), Ashley Belote (Little Red and Big Bad Fred; Squirrel Lock), Sam Beck (Alana; Verse), Matthew Dow Smith (Amelia Shadows; The October Girl), Tatiana Hill (Blood City Rollers), Kelsey B. Toney (Tucoboat), Kennedy Tarrell (Evil-ish), Phaea Crede, Wendy Qualls, James Stryker, Jason Henderson, Grace Lee, Lela Gwenn, and Meghan Boehman.

If you have recently queried Moe Ferrara or have experience with this agent, please submit a comment below. Recent response times are always welcome and helpful to other writers.

From the Moe Ferrara Submission Guidelines:

  • Queries are accepted only through Query Manager. Queries sent by email will not be read.
  • For middle grade, young adult, and adult novels: paste the first 20 pages into the sample text field. A longer synopsis is appreciated but not required.
  • For picture books: include a link to the full dummy. At this time she is only accepting picture-book queries from author/illustrators.
  • For author/illustrated graphic novels: include a link to a few sample spreads. She seeks author/illustrators primarily and will consider script-only projects on a very limited basis; illustrators-only should include a portfolio link.
  • If a book deals heavily with parental death (any age group), warn for that in the query.
  • She is not a good fit for literary fiction, upmarket fiction, hard science fiction, epic fantasy, women’s fiction, or military fiction.

Triada US Literary Agency Submission Guidelines

  • Submit through the individual agent’s Query Manager form linked from that agent’s Triada profile. Unsolicited queries sent to agent email addresses are deleted unread.
  • Submissions that do not follow Triada’s protocol will be discarded; the agency responds only to submissions that follow posted guidelines.
  • Postal submissions are accepted with a SASE (stamps required; metered mail not used for returns). Mail to: Dr. Uwe Stender, Triada US Literary Agency, P.O. Box 561, Sewickley, PA 15143. The agency does not respond to or return postal materials without a SASE.
  • Triada welcomes new and unpublished writers; the agency is interested in good writing rather than prior publication count.

Moe Ferrara's Current Wishlist:

Adult fiction is a current priority, especially rom-coms (queer and straight) with real plot stakes beyond the romance; sports romance with hockey or football/soccer teammate dynamics; forced proximity, fake dating, grumpy/sunshine, and soulmate or lightly supernatural rom-com twists.

Accessible romantasy and fantasy in the vein of Karen Marie Moning / Anne Bishop—lush, creature-forward, romantic heat; retellings with new twists; non-Western mythologies and less-common creatures (e.g., selkies)—not epic fantasy; taps out after more than three POVs and/or more than two maps; vampires only with a genuinely fresh lore take.

Atmospheric, “our world but something is off” horror (comps like Wednesday, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, The Midnight Club, Are You Afraid of the Dark?); body horror okay if it serves plot; not slashers, jump-scare stacks, or gratuitous violence.

Young adult: Count of Monte Cristo–style retelling; Christopher Pike / Asylum-style creepy supernatural horror-thriller; LGBT+ stories where sexuality is not the only thrust; queer rom-coms; fantasy with non-Western folklore or original worlds and lush worldbuilding.

Middle grade: humorous, accessible adventure (bonus for puzzles); Coraline-like creepy lyrical manuscripts and dreamlike or twisted carnival worlds; kids solving trouble before parents get home; queer first-crush stories.

Graphic novels (early reader / MG / YA original graphic novels): author/illustrators primarily; tastes match her MG/YA wants; more contemporary and graphic memoir welcome; adult OGNs only if exceptional. Picture books: author/illustrators only; LGBT+ projects; smart, side-splitting humor and puns.

Query and Submission Hints
