Please note that we no longer accept print submissions. Electronic submissions should consist of a query letter detailing the book in question and your qualifications, as well as the reason you’re reaching out to the particular agent being queried. For fiction, you should also include a synopsis and the first ten pages of a novel or one short story from a collection in the body of the email. For non-fiction, please include a synopsis in the body of the email. If you already have a full proposal, you may feel free to attach it to your message, labeling the attachment clearly with your name and the title of the work.
Given the high volume of submissions we receive, we unfortunately are not able to respond to queries we decide not to pursue. If you haven’t heard from us within 12 weeks after submitting, you may consider the query closed. Please know that even if we do not pursue your submission, we are grateful for your interest.
Our primary areas of interest include literary fiction, suspense and thrillers, genuinely high-concept science fiction and fantasy, narrative non-fiction (history, biography, science, et cetera), book club fiction, YA and middle-grade works, memoir, and some category non-fiction.
