About Me
Nkem Andrea DenChukwu was born in the Enugu State of Nigeria, on July 4th; the sixth of seven children. She migrated to the United States in 1994 and earned her bachelor's degree in Computer Networking and her master's degree in Health Services Administration, from Strayer University in Washington, DC. She coauthored The Unstoppable Woman's Guide to Emotional Well-Being, in January 2012 with 22 other females authors and Life Coaches. Her first solo book; Tribal Echoes; a book about restoring hope to the African culture, was published in April 2012. She recently completed her first children's book (Series on Life Lessons); soon to be published in March 2013. Nkem has a flare for writing inspirational verses. She is a Creative Writer, and also very passionate about photography.
In 2012, she dived into Independent Film Production in the Nollywood Industry (Houston, Texas) as a Production Manager and Co-producer of a movie by Writer/Director; Don Okolo; PAGE 36. She is in the pre-production stage of an upcoming movie; GEM OF THE RAINFOREST, by Don Okolo, in Houston, Texas, as the Production Manager and as one of the Producers. Nkem is known for being focused and determined in all that she does. She is a 'Hands-on-Micro-Manager.'
She is one of those African parents proud and glued to her roots, making sure that her children know and always remember where they are from, while appreciating what makes them Africans.
Her daily dose of inspiration is to first inspire herself, and then others. Even a smile, she says makes a difference.
Nkem loves to cook, especially exotic African dishes. She is also known among friends for her creativity in healthy cooking.
Nkem is a determined, focused, and empowered young woman, with a positive mindset. One of her desires is to be the best that she can be, against all odds.
She lives in Sugar Land, Texas, with her family.
