Before submitting to Gateway

Gateway features articles on historical and contemporary cultural, social, and political issues in St. Louis and Missouri.
The Gateway editorial team is actively seeking articles on topics within the areas of western expansion, preservation and architecture, folk culture, music and theater traditions, and civil rights and African American history. Essays on individual Missourians and the history of communities, organizations, and movements in St. Louis are also welcome.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Full-length essays run between 3,500 and 5,000 words. You may submit either a query letter with writing samples or a partial or complete manuscript for consideration.
