Leisure Books, a mass market paperback publisher specializing in horror and thrillers, ceased its print publications in September 2010, transitioning to e-books. Facing significant financial difficulties, Dorchester Publishing, Leisure Books' parent company, sold over 1,000 titles to Amazon Publishing in August 2012. Authors who did not join Amazon Publishing had their rights reverted to them. By the end of 2011, Dorchester Publishing was defunct, and Leisure Books ceased operations entirely.
