Submitting Your Work to Penumbra
Before submitting to Penumbra
The Market List recommends you verify the market is active and accepting submissions before sending your manuscript via regular mail. You may verify a market status by either visiting their website, calling their listed phone number, or comfirming via regular mail that the market is still active before sending them your work.

Word counts—500 to 3500 words.
Every month, we'll select a story from a new or unpublished author for our New Talent/Free Read page on the Penumbra website. That author's story will be featured on our website and reimbursed at a flat rate.
Please send a cover letter with brief publishing history and your entire submission as a .doc or .rtf attachment to submissions@penumbra.musapublishing.com. Please put "Penumbra submission" in the subject line of your email. No simultaneous or multiple submissions please. We do not accept multiple submissions.
