From the Guidelines
Smith and Kraus is always on the search for exciting new titles to publish.
We specialize in theater books and welcome manuscript proposals for books of interest to the greater theatrical community, i.e. books of interest to actors, teachers, directors, theater professors, in other words, anyone interested in any aspect of theater at any level!
However, we are now broadening our horizons and have decided to publish books in new genres. We will now be considering fiction and non-fiction titles. Do you have a story to tell? Is the next Great American Novel in your desk drawer? Do you have some Chicken Soup for the Soul… we all need chicken soup! Do you have a book proposal to send us?
Propose your book!
We are happy to consider all books; just fill out the form and upload your Word file with author bio, intended table of contents, and a sample chapter. Also, tell us… Is there a complete manuscript at this point? Why is this book needed? Who will buy this book? Are there other books like it and if so what are the titles and publishers and the dates of the publications? How can the author promote the book? These questions are all to give you an idea of how we can best serve you as a creative and as an author. If you don't know the answers to all the questions or are now pondering them yourself, don't let that deter you from submitting!
