About Bill Clegg

Bill Clegg is the founder of The Clegg Agency and an established literary agent representing literary fiction, narrative nonfiction, memoir, and poetry. His client list includes numerous critically acclaimed and award-winning writers, with a particular concentration in ambitious literary fiction and distinctive, voice-driven work. His authors have received major honors including the Pulitzer Prize, Booker Prize recognition, National Book Award recognition, and other significant literary awards.

Clegg began his publishing career after attending the Radcliffe Publishing Course and later co-founded the agency Clegg & Burnes. He subsequently worked at William Morris Endeavor before leaving in 2014 to establish The Clegg Agency. In addition to his work as an agent, he is himself an author, having published the memoirs Portrait of an Addict as a Young Man and Ninety Days and the novels Did You Ever Have a Family and The End of the Day.
